NEWS! TROLLYWOOD SERIES!

Back To the Trollywood

We've all heard the expression "It was better in the Good Old Days..." But what does it really mean? Aiming to once in a while be able to add "damage to the stack" and that the Mogg Fanatic could actually perform great deeds for real. Maybe it was just the joy of being able to open a "Pro Player Card" by Olle Råde at the time or simply just getting a lunch break during a tournament?

Just as the retro frame is being reprinted, I am fully convinced that today's tournaments should offer lunch breaks, Hall of Fame & Live Streams straight from the stack. We offer you the Trollywood Series at Alara Games!

The year 2014 didn't only bring a new card design with a holofoil stamp and reprint of the Onslaught fetch. It was also the year that the community in Trollhättan introduced tournaments under the name "Trollywood Modern/Trollywood Legacy". This was a series of tournaments created entirely by and for our community with the goal of finding a meeting place for the game we love most. The tournaments during this period were a perfect opportunity to meet old friends or make new once, maybe even during a classic lunch break. The ingredients were few but oh so important... Tournament Magic in its purest form, a welcoming atmosphere where new stories were written and anecdotes became part of the entertainment. This was all that was needed for a pleasant and nerve-wracking experience to remember. Those who were there at that time probably remember how one of our local players tried to convince Sweden's Magic players that Trollhättan was the metropolis of kebab sauce. We will leave this unsaid and simply leave this to your taste buds.

Just as Wizards of the Coast reuses old mechanics, we also believe that old concepts can be renewed and made better than they once were. So what does the arrangement look like?

The concept strives to be as accessible to everyone as possible, which means a slightly lower price tag for entry and several recurring events per year. The event must also be able to be followed from the outside for those who do not have the opportunity to attend or are just curious about what is happening and how the people they know are doing. In order for everyone to be able to follow the event in the best possible way and create space for conversation, we have chosen to arrange the event in the format "Open Decklist tournament" and we will broadcast Live Streaming. Since Trollhättan is Sweden's answer to Hollywood, it is a matter of course for us to create stars that we want to remember, we introduce "Trollywood - Wall of Fame". Each winner in the respective tournament receives a place that will forever adorn the wall at Alara Games. A full day of Magic takes your strength, and for an even more pleasant stay, we've added a classic lunch break after round two.

Alara Games is now pleased to, together with our sponsor ULTRA PRO, invite you to the first tournament of the year in this series. Below follows information about the event and a shorter FAQ.
